Managing Director

As a Managing Director Gareth has run big shows across all networks. During his time as Head of Development for BBC Studios, he won nine commissions working closely with all the main platforms and channels.

Before joining the BBC he was the MD of million pound turnover independent production company UMTV.

  • Sarah McQueen
    Head of Production

    Sarah's role is to supervise and support the company's production management team and oversee the successful implementation of our productions, ensuring that they are carried out safely and on budget. She also does the scheduling and budgeting for all of Big Circus Media's output.

    Sarah has over 20 years experience in the industry. Before joining Big Circus Media she was head of production at Zig Zag Productions for six years. She has also worked at Raw TV, Naked, Freemantle, Windfall Films, GTV Docs and TalkBack Thames, where her career first started on The Apprentice.

    Throughout her career she has worked on a wide range of documentary, factual and entertainment programming.

    When she's not at work you will find her redecorating her house to fulfil her passion for interior design!

  • Ella Cosby
    Senior Production Manager


    Ella has worked extensively as a PM for a range of independent production companies and production managed logistically complex, big-budget series.


    Ella started 20 years ago as an intern at MTV and worked on an array of music docs and multicam live events before moving into Factual documentaries and challenging series before joining Big Circus.


    She believes in keeping a happy team, learning from every experience, and loves her LandRover Defender as much as her children.

  • Elliot Falk
    Senior Development Producer

    Elliot started his TV career in a development team within BBC Entertainment, working on shows such as Friends Like These, Dog Eat Dog and The Weakest Link.

    Since then he has worked on numerous high-profile shows including Stargazing Live and The One Show, where he became Deputy Editor. More recently he has been the Series Editor of The Steph Show and Sunday Morning Live, and has developed programmes for a number of production companies.

    He’s spent far too long in the back of a camera car watching Matt cycle in the rain with the Children in Need rickshaw - and once left Gareth waiting for hours in a bleak, deserted park in Sheffield when he missed his train. He’s sorry.

  • Charlie Bullock
    Series Producer

    Charlie’s varied TV career started in entertainment, where he did everything from wrangling Beyonce’s backing dancers at The Brits, to standing in for the late Robin Gibb during rehearsals of Fame Academy and going ghost-hunting with Will Young for the Friday Night Project.

    He then moved into factual, specialising in live debate programmes ranging from the religious, moral and ethical subjects of The Big Questions to the more lighthearted topics of Loose Women.

    He's since gone on to produce a wide range of flagship shows for all the major broadcasters including Watchdog, The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, The One Show, How to Spend It Well at Christmas and Animal Rescue Live.

    Currently he is the Series Producer of hit More4 documentary series Matt Baker: Our Farm in the Dales.

  • Mirella Byrne
    Senior Production Coordinator

    Mirella started out in TV over 20 years ago working in children's animation on the Little Miss and Mr Men Series, before she made the move into the world of ITV's London Studios on the Southbank as a Resources Coordinator and Studio Manager.

    She worked across 6 studios on many many shows like Loose Women, Saturday Night Take Away and Graham Norton.

    After 13.5 years at ITV, she hung up her studio hat and moved into factual entertainment, working as a coordinator on 10 Years Younger in 10 Days and A Place in the Sun for Channel 4.

    Her passions are her family, friends, 8.5kg cat Ziggy and bringing complex and creative TV productions to fruition. So working at Big Circus is perfect.

  • Holly Stimpson
    Production Assistant

    Holly is a newbie to the TV scene, joining Big Circus as a Production Assistant in June 2022.

    After graduating from the University of Sussex in 2020, Holly worked in various industries, from healthcare to PR, all the while finding freelance opportunities to build up her experience in TV and Film, whether that be creating social media video content or being a runner for a Netflix writers' room.

    She is now fully immersing herself in the world of factual entertainment and constantly learning from the fantastic people around her at Big Circus.

    When she's not at work, you'll find her watching Harry Potter or down the pub.
